The Paris-based company announced plans to allocate these funds toward acquiring 13,800 Nvidia processors destined for a forthcoming data facility in the French capital’s metropolitan area.
This transaction marks Mistral’s inaugural venture into debt-based capital raising. The financing structure received support from an international banking syndicate comprising seven major financial institutions, notably BNP Paribas, Crédit Agricole CIB, HSBC, and MUFG.
The planned computing facility will occupy space in Bruyeres-le-Chatel, situated in the southern suburbs of Paris. Company executives anticipate the site will commence operations during the April-June 2026 timeframe.
According to CEO Arthur Mensch, expanding computational resources throughout Europe represents a strategic imperative. “Scaling our infrastructure in Europe is critical to empower our customers and to ensure AI innovation and autonomy remain at the heart of Europe,” he stated.
Mistral has established itself as a European counterweight to major American AI corporations such as OpenAI and Anthropic. The organization provides both proprietary AI model technology and comprehensive infrastructure solutions tailored for governmental bodies and commercial enterprises.
