The AI powerhouse Anthropic has witnessed its revenue run rate surge from $9 billion at 2025’s close to an impressive $30 billion-plus, according to recent company disclosures. The dramatic uptick reflects growing enterprise appetite for the company’s Claude AI platform throughout 2026.
The company now serves over 1,000 enterprise clients who each invest more than $1 million annually. This represents more than double the figure from just February, highlighting the rapid acceleration in commercial adoption.
In response to surging demand, Anthropic has finalized a substantial computing infrastructure agreement involving both Google and Broadcom. The arrangement provides Anthropic with approximately 5 gigawatts of total computing capacity over multiple years.
Roughly 3.5 gigawatts of this infrastructure will be delivered via Google’s tensor processing units (TPUs), manufactured by Broadcom. This segment of the arrangement is scheduled to commence in 2027.
Broadcom and Google have established a long-term supply contract for these processors extending through 2031. Additionally, Anthropic will contribute to developing and providing customized TPU solutions for Google under the partnership terms.
Broadcom CEO Hock Tan previously referenced this collaboration during last month’s quarterly earnings discussion. He also projected that Broadcom’s AI semiconductor revenue would exceed $100 billion in the upcoming year.
The overwhelming majority of this new computing capacity will be deployed on American soil. Anthropic notes this expansion aligns with its November 2025 pledge to channel $50 billion into United States-based computing infrastructure.
Ongoing Legal Challenge Fails to Halt Momentum
Anthropic finds itself embroiled in legal proceedings with federal authorities. The Defense Department designated Anthropic as a supply-chain security concern after disagreements emerged regarding AI safety protocols.
Anthropic has cautioned that this classification could result in billions of dollars in forfeited revenue. According to company legal counsel, more than 100 corporate clients reached out expressing concerns about maintaining their Anthropic partnerships.
Nevertheless, the company reports sustained expansion. Paul Smith, Anthropic’s chief commercial officer, indicated that certain clients appreciate the company’s willingness to “demonstrates its principles” when engaging with government entities.
Implications of the Broadcom Partnership for Semiconductor Industry
Google initially developed its TPU technology to enhance search engine performance. These specialized chips have subsequently evolved into critical infrastructure for developing and deploying artificial intelligence applications.
Broadcom transforms Google’s chip architectures into production-ready hardware that proceeds to fabrication facilities. This dynamic establishes Broadcom as a competitive alternative to Nvidia, which maintains dominant market share in AI computing hardware.
Broadcom stock jumped as much as 3.6% during extended trading hours after the filing became public. Alphabet, Google’s parent corporation, gained approximately 1.6% in premarket sessions, while Nvidia dipped 0.4%.
Anthropic competitor OpenAI executed comparable computing infrastructure agreements during the previous year with Broadcom, Nvidia, and additional partners to guarantee AI processing capacity.
Broadcom’s regulatory filing noted that Anthropic’s utilization of the enhanced computing resources hinges on the company maintaining its commercial trajectory.
