The newly announced models — Ray-Ban Meta Blayzer Optics and Ray-Ban Meta Scriber Optics — are currently available for advance orders through Meta and Ray-Ban’s official websites. Physical retail availability across U.S. optical stores and selected global locations begins April 14.
These eyewear devices accommodate virtually all prescription specifications, making them accessible to a broader consumer base. Engineering enhancements include extended-range hinges, replaceable nose pads, and temple tips that opticians can customize.
CEO Mark Zuckerberg has emphasized that billions worldwide rely on corrective eyewear — positioning prescription compatibility as an essential evolution for the product category.

The technology giant is preparing to launch Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta eyewear in additional international territories throughout upcoming months, including Japan, Korea, Singapore, Chile, Colombia, and Peru.
Regarding software enhancements, Meta is introducing a nutrition monitoring capability to the glasses. Voice-controlled WhatsApp summaries and memory recall functions are entering early testing phases, while simultaneous translation functionality now supports 20 different languages.
Display-Equipped Glasses Receive Upgrades
Meta’s Ray-Ban Display glasses — which debuted at $799 last year — are receiving their own feature additions. New capabilities include browsing Instagram Reels, Spotify quick-access controls, at-a-glance widget displays, and simultaneous recording of both display content and the wearer’s field of vision.
Neural handwriting recognition is anticipated to become available within the next several weeks.
The Display glasses support prescription lens integration for an extra $200, though Meta previously postponed their worldwide distribution earlier this year citing component supply constraints and unexpectedly high consumer demand.
Competition Intensifies in Smart Eyewear Space
Meta controls 76.1% of global smart glasses shipments, based on IDC research data. The sector delivered 9.6 million units throughout the previous year and is anticipated to expand to 13.4 million units in 2026.
Snap has established a dedicated subsidiary focused on its augmented reality eyewear and is moving toward a commercial release. Google has formed a collaboration with Warby Parker to develop its own AI-powered glasses offering.
Meta produces its Ray-Ban glasses through a partnership with EssilorLuxottica, Ray-Ban’s parent organization. The corporation intends to allocate hundreds of billions of dollars toward its ambitious “personal superintelligence” initiative.
META stock advanced nearly 4% during Tuesday’s morning trading session but continues to show approximately 19% decline for the calendar year.
