On March 10, 2026, Amazon made its Health AI assistant universally available to U.S. customers, integrating the technology directly into Amazon.com and its mobile application. Until this rollout, the feature remained confined to One Medical app users with active subscriptions.
The deployment is happening in phases. According to Amazon, availability will continue expanding throughout the upcoming weeks until complete nationwide coverage is achieved.
Neither Prime membership nor One Medical subscription is required for basic access. The standard version comes at no cost.
The Health AI platform addresses inquiries about health symptoms and pharmaceuticals, interprets laboratory findings and medical documentation, and facilitates prescription refills. Additionally, it handles appointment coordination and facilitates connections with One Medical healthcare professionals through messaging, video conferencing, or face-to-face consultations.
Customers can authorize the platform to retrieve their personal medical information, encompassing clinical documentation, diagnostic records, and laboratory results, via the Health Information Exchange. The system also integrates relevant Amazon purchase records, such as blood pressure devices or nutritional supplements.
Prime Members Get Extra Perks
Qualified U.S. Prime subscribers receive up to five complimentary direct-messaging consultations with One Medical healthcare providers, addressing over 30 medical conditions. These encompass cold symptoms, influenza, urinary tract infections, allergic reactions, acid reflux, erectile dysfunction, and dermatological concerns. Amazon estimates this benefit at up to $145 in value.
These complimentary consultations can be distributed among household members via Amazon Family. Prime for Young Adults and Prime Access subscribers are also eligible.
Beyond the introductory benefit, healthcare consultations are available for $29 per visit through One Medical Pay-per-visit. Annual One Medical membership costs $99 for Prime subscribers, reduced from the regular $199 rate.
How It Works Under the Hood
The Health AI platform operates on Amazon Bedrock infrastructure. Its architecture employs a multi-agent framework — a primary agent manages patient interactions, while specialized sub-agents execute particular functions like prescription handling or scheduling. Monitoring agents track conversations continuously and can transfer cases to human medical professionals when circumstances warrant.
Amazon reports that clinical experts from One Medical collaborated in developing the system. Prior to public release, the medical team evaluated it using extensive simulated conversations that tested safety protocols, emergency procedures, and regulatory adherence. The company maintains that Health AI must demonstrate performance matching or surpassing clinician standards for safety-critical judgments before deployment.
All user interactions occur within a HIPAA-compliant framework. Amazon states it does not utilize protected medical information for general marketing purposes or commercialize customer health data.
The platform is not intended to provide independent diagnoses or formulate treatment protocols. When health issues prove complicated or demand professional medical judgment, it routes users to qualified providers.
Amazon One Medical maintains collaborative relationships with Rush University System for Health and Cleveland Clinic for specialist referrals.
Health AI initially debuted in January 2026 as an exclusive feature for One Medical members, generating favorable feedback from patients and medical professionals, according to Amazon.
