Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company disclosed a dramatic revenue surge for June on Monday, showing a 67.9% year-over-year climb to NT$442.68 billion. The announcement came on Monday rather than the typical Friday release due to disruptions from Typhoon Bavi.
Shares of TSMC gained 1% following the announcement.

The performance exceeded market projections, with second-quarter total revenue hitting NT$1.270 trillion ($39.63 billion), representing a 36% year-over-year jump. This figure topped the chipmaker’s own upper estimate of $40.2 billion.
During the initial six months of 2026, TSMC’s aggregate revenue touched NT$2.4 trillion ($74.99 billion), reflecting a 35.6% gain compared to the corresponding period in 2025.
Sravan Kundojjala, a semiconductor analyst at SemiAnalysis, characterized the performance as “quite robust.” He noted that June typically experiences sequential monthly declines based on historical trends from the previous four years — making this outcome particularly noteworthy.
“The demand supply situation in AI is still quite tight and TSMC is sold out on N3, which is targeted by all leading AI GPU and CPUs this year,” Kundojjala stated.
Artificial Intelligence Chip Sales Projected to Reach $40 Billion
Kundojjala projects that TSMC will deliver more than $40 billion in AI-related chip revenue during 2026, representing approximately 25% of the company’s overall sales.
The foundry giant commands a 73% share of the worldwide pure-play foundry market based on Q1 2026 data from Counterpoint Research. Major customers include Nvidia, Apple, and AMD.
The impressive June performance comes just ahead of TSMC’s second-quarter earnings report, slated for Thursday, July 16. In addition to the financial results, market watchers will pay close attention to the company’s forward guidance. TSMC serves as a key indicator for the entire semiconductor manufacturing sector.
Manufacturing Facility Expansion in Chiayi
Regarding infrastructure development, TSMC intends to construct two additional advanced chip packaging plants at the Chiayi Science Park in Taiwan’s southern region, according to a Reuters report. Taiwan’s National Science and Technology Council Minister Wu Cheng-wen verified that the initial facility has commenced mass production operations, with the second plant anticipated to begin production in the near future.
On a sequential basis, June revenue increased 6.2% compared to May — another data point that attracted analyst interest considering the historical seasonal pattern of June weakness.
TSMC will publish complete Q2 financial results on July 16.
