This strategic framework emerged from intensive discussions at a Berlin research summit, where core developers and technical researchers convened to reassess and recalibrate the network’s long-range technical trajectory.
Quantum Computing Threats Demand Immediate Action
Among the most significant adjustments within this updated strategy is the dramatically increased emphasis on quantum-resistant architecture. Buterin emphasized that quantum safety considerations “has shifted up a LOT in priority,” noting that completing quantum-resistant blob infrastructure has “become urgent.”
The strategic document demands comprehensive replacement of every quantum-vulnerable element throughout the entire protocol stack. Development teams have already initiated work on quantum-secure blob architecture designs.
